School of Rock
Bedford (914) 218-4025; schoolofrockwestchester.com
So you’d like your child to develop his or her musical talent, but your kid would like to never play another Beethoven sonata again (and, let’s face it, there are days you’d rather hear the Stones than Stravinsky). Your solution is School of Rock in Bedford, a program that combines private rock music lessons with group rehearsal and performance. Lessons are offered in guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, and vocals in both beginner and performance track; an advanced “artist development” program is available for your little prodigy as well. Professional musicians guest-teach during the season.
