When Dr. Richard Goldstein started Mobile Vet Squad in 2010, he had no real client base and little to model his business after. He’d been looking extensively for ideal business locations when he stumbled upon an advertisement for a company that sold 26-foot-long mobile medical units—and that’s when he had his lightbulb moment: saving busy pet owners from bothersome trips to the vet by offering house calls.
“I realized that I could treat animals that weren’t otherwise being treated, and the business plan started to come together,” says Dr. Goldstein.
In the five years since its inception, the New Rochelle-based business has grown to serve more than 500 pet owners throughout Westchester County while utilizing state-of-the-art equipment in the veterinary field. Dr. Goldstein now has two veterinary technicians in the practice, which has reported consistent double-digit year-to-year financial growth.
Dr. Goldstein has been practicing for more than 25 years and is one of only 400 veterinarians certified by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners as a specialist in canine and feline practice. His expertise in veterinary care is proven, and, now, so is the success of Mobile Vet Squad.
“We’re steadily increasing our client base, and that allows us to increase the service we provide and equipment we have on board,” he notes.
