Last night, Yankee power hitter Hideki Matsui hit a two-run home run that helped secure his team’s title of World Series champions. He is the first Japanese player to ever the title of World Series MVP.
As Matsui-Mania hits New York and beyond, one Westchester high school also chimes in with excitement. Keio Academy of New York, located in Purchase, is the only Japanese high school in the nation—and the students there, many of whom moved here from Japan, are beaming with pride as they buzz about an enormous accomplishment amongst one of their own.
