Lashing Out

Skimpy-lashed ladies, rejoice! Allergan, the company that brought us Botox, has just introduced Latisse, the only FDA-approved drug that promises longer, more lush lashes. Seems Allergan’s glaucoma treatment eye drops had the positive side effect of increasing the lash quotient in patients who used it. The downside is that it is available by prescription only, costs a whopping $120 a month (versus around $5 for mascara), and can cause itchy, red eyes.

There is now a slew of products on the market promising the same thing, although only Latisse is FDA approved, so caveat emptor! All are applied to the lash line.
