Life: The Place to Be
Ardsley (914) 591-4400; lifetheplacetobe.com
This multipurpose venue hosts teen club nights throughout the year, but, frankly, we’re way more impressed with its array of family-friendly activities. There’s bowling (on full-length lanes), laser tag, an arcade, a soft play area for young children, and a rock-climbing wall, plus that staple of human existence, free WiFi. This is a rainy-day no-brainer.
Great Play
Scarsdale (914) 713-3470; greatplay.com
This 3,560-square-foot space offers a range of programs and activities for kids of all ages: motor skills foundations, sports skills, general play, even Zumba and birthday parties. There’s also Parents’ Night Out: Drop off your kids (ages 3 to 10) for a night of games (Great Play’s “best of the best”), pizza (children can bring their own snacks if you prefer), and a movie. Kids can come in their pajamas or bring them, along with blankets and a pillow. And parents get a few blissful hours to themselves. It’s called a win-win.
