It’s a Mystery

Mystery buffs, take note. Former Dobbs Ferry resident Stefanie Pintoff (dubbed the next Caleb Carr by the Huffington Post) has the third in her award-winning Gotham series coming out this month. Secret of the White Rose protagonist Detective Simon Ziele has left his Westchester abode in quaint Dobson (get it?) for the Upper West Side, but we won’t hold it against him: this is a thrilling glimpse into anarchy and corruption in turn-of-the-century New York. Also out in May is Odd Jobs by Chappaqua resident Ben Lieberman, endorsed by none other than James Patterson as “a tightly-wound, well written mystery that I read in one sitting.” In this debut novel, a struggling student takes a summer job at Kosher World Meat Factory, only to find out things aren’t as kosher as it seems. Heart of Ice, released April 5, is the third in the Triple Threat series by Larchmont resident and former federal prosecutor Lis Wiehl. In this installment, a federal prosecutor, crime reporter, and FBI agent hunt down a charismatic serial killer. While Andrea Kane lives across the river in New Jersey, her latest book, The Girl Who Disappeared Twice, out in June, takes place in our fair county. A team of unconventional investigators—a behaviorist, a techno-wizard, an intuitive, and a former navy SEAL—take on the case of a family court judge’s missing daughter.
