Indian Point Officials: Radioactive Steam Released Last Month Was Insignificant

According to a spokesman for Indian Point’s plant operator, Entergy, the amount of radioactive steam that was released into the atmosphere for two days beginning on November 2nd was “insignificant.”

The release was accidental, and caused 600,000 gallons of radioactive, boiling water to escape through a valve and enter the atmosphere as a cloud containing tritium – a cancer-causing radioactive isotope.
