Hi there. It’s me, Maisie. Mommy’s in the hospital today so I’m filling in for her. It’s not a big deal or anything. I mean, she’s fine and all. It’s just that she had a baby yesterday.
That’s right! I am officially a big sister! Wahoo! We’ve been on pins and needles waiting to find out the sex. Finally, we know. It’s a boy!
Hudson Sinclair made his appearance at 8:07 AM and White Plains Hospital will never be the same. Weighing in at six pounds, 14 ounces, my brother (that’s so cool to write—“MY BROTHER!”) measured 18 ½ inches long.
I got the news when Daddy called my grandmother. I laughed a bit and then headed upstairs saying, “Nap. Nap.” Hey, waiting for life-changing info like that is exhausting!
I didn’t get to meet my brother yet because he’s in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The doc thinks he’ll be fine, but he needs a little extra loving for a few reasons. I did, however, get to see Mommy. She’s doing pretty well even though she has a giant boo-boo across her tummy. She says she has to stay in the hospital for a few days with the baby while she heals a bit. I’m not too happy about that part of it, but I guess the big sister thing is pretty cool. Besides, my grandmother has been spoiling me rotten so it’s not all that bad.
Our dog, Digby, is eagerly waiting at home. She knows something is up, but she’s not quite sure what. Supposedly, everybody will be home on Sunday and then we can all start trying to figure out how to make a family. I’ve picked out all sorts of toys to show my new brother and have been practicing sharing.
Anyway, I just wanted to brag a bit. I mean, it’s not every day a girl becomes a big sister, right?
