Named for the fishing port in Hong Kong harbor (which, in turn, was named the coastal Scottish city), Aberdeen is Westchester’s most evocative Chinese restaurant. In honor of the Beijing Olympics, step away from the usual eggroll, wonton soup and General Tso’s chicken. Real Chinese food (unlike the Americanized corner restaurant versions) features lots of spice, bony meats and squishy textures. Get all three with a big pile of Aberdeen’s deep fried chicken feet. Salty, peppery deep fried skin yields to fine chewy sinews rendered succulent and gooey with cooking. Suck, chew and gnaw on the tiny bones—it’s a good as a front row gymnastics tickets.
