Jessica Chisholm and Sean Hanley met when they were sophomores at Somers High School. They dated until college, then saw each other only on school breaks as Jessica went out of state to Purdue University in Indiana, while Sean attended Mercy College in White Plains. They became engaged in August 2007, and Jessica spent the next year studying bridal magazines (including Westchester Weddings), searching bridal sites on the Internet, and visiting bridal stores in the county and in Manhattan.
“I did most of the research myself,” says Jessica, a pharmaceutical sales representative for Alcon Laboratory.
The wedding, with 190 guests, had a tropical theme, carried out through purple calla lilies and orchids, eggplant-hued bridesmaids’ dresses, and the purple fondant ribbons on the wedding cake.
After the ceremony at St. John the Evangelist Church in White Plains, the wedding party excused themselves to take pictures at the PepsiCo Sculpture Garden. Then a Rolls Royce whisked the couple off to Doral Arrowwood, where they enjoyed a cocktail reception on the patio overlooking the golf course, followed by dinner. “We chose Doral because we had a lot of out-of-town guests who could sleep there after the wedding. Plus, the grounds were so beautiful,” Jessica says. “But the best part of the entire day was getting ready to walk down the aisle toward a man that I’ve known my whole life. The way he was looking at me was just incredible.”
