After being put on the hot seat by Channel 7/WABC-TV News, Harrison Mayor Joan Walsh conceded that, while she was town clerk, Harrison had issued duplicate marriage licenses to at least two woman, who may have married illegal immigrants so the men could obtain citizenship. These duplicate marriages took place in the months leading up to 9/11, during which about 200 Middle-Eastern-born men, who were not residents of Harrison or even Westchester, came to the village of Harrison to get married.
