GiftFly, a website founded in 2011, and now growing in Westchester, is here to help all you last-minute shoppers.
The site allows the purchase of gift cards that can be sent via email, text, or even Facebook. But it’s more than just a convenience: GiftFly was created “to have solutions for local businesses and small mom-and-pop stores,” says Natasha Miller, GiftFly’s marketing director. “We’re trying to bridge the gap between a local buyer and merchants by providing them a platform to stay connected and even sell outside their current customer base.”
GiftFly has already partnered with more than 500 US businesses across the nation, with an increasing number in Westchester. So, want to send someone a gift card for Salon V in Mohegan Lake? You can do that now through GiftFly. Or The Iron Tomato in White Plains? You can do that, too.
With its easy-to-use interface, it’s a breeze to send a gift card. Enter the site, provide basic information (the recipient’s name, local establishment you’ve chosen, and amount of gift card), pay, and the gift is on its way. And you can get fancy designing the card by choosing different backgrounds, colors, and effects, plus you can also write a personalized message. The site also allows you to search for businesses by location or type of business (e.g., restaurants, salons).
And it’s easy on the business side too: Just add your company’s basic information, enter a code from GiftFly, and then you’re added to the system and can create unlimited card designs that can be linked to your website.
