From A To Z: A Foodie's Favorites With Christian Petroni

It’s food, food, and more food (plus a dental shout-out) for the Fortina co-owner and chef.

Avitabile Deli in Yonkers. Hanging prosciutto, provolone, sopressata—what’s not to love?

Beehive Restaurant in Armonk. Makes me, and anyone else who comes in, feel like family.

Cooked & Co. in Scarsdale puts out some of the best-prepared foods I’ve ever had, hands down.

DeCicco’s has ruined supermarkets for me. The one in Armonk is my happy place.

Everything about Westchester is awesome!

Fortina, obviously.

Giulio Petroni, my little brother and Fortina’s quality consultant. You don’t know when he’s coming or if he’s even there, but you better believe I’m gonna hear about his experience.

Hard Knox Tattoo in Yonkers. John Sweeney, the owner and amazing artist, has blessed me with the most stunning vegetable sleeve, which makes me happy every time I look at it.

Ice cream. If you haven’t had Bona Bona/Fortina’s zabaglione collaboration, you don’t know what you’re missing.

Jared Falco, one of Westchester’s most innovative up-and-coming chefs, holding it down at Fortina Rye Brook.

Kneaded Bread. Artisanal bread made with love and care in Port Chester. A true art.

Lum Yen in Mamaroneck. Westchester’s iconic Chinese restaurant hits the spot every time.

Mamaroneck Diner. They have mastered the art of chocolate chip pancakes.

Nutella banana muffin at Cooked & Co. It’s stuffed with copious amounts of Nutella and weighs in at close to a pound. Get one now!

Organic Pharmer in Rye Brook. Everything is gluten-free, vegan—and tasty.

Paul Dipietro from New Rochelle’s Cherry Lawn Farm Market makes you feel at home as soon as you walk into this food paradise.

Q Restaurant and Bar in Port Chester. My favorite spot for an over-the-top, gluttonous lunch.

Ricky Restiano, an incredible local photographer taking wedding photography to a new level.

Sal’s Pizza in Mamaroneck: a house salad, three Sicilian slices, two cream sodas, and call me in the morning.

Tacos el Poblano in Yonkers. My dad took me to this little green taco shack when I was a kid, and boy was he on to something. The most authentic food outside of Mexico City.

Untermyer Park on the Hudson River in Yonkers. Beautiful landscape, and the first place I ever drank a malt beverage.

Valentino’s Restaurant on Bronx River Road—RIP. There’s nothing like being served chicken parm by a professional waiter in a tux.

(The legendary) Walter’s. My personal record is six hot dogs, with ketchup and the signature mustard. (No ketchup on hot dogs? Sue me.)

X-rays. Shout-out to my dentist, Dr. Paul Guerrino, for providing me (and the rest of Westchester) with highly detailed x-rays of our teeth.

Yonkers. Home of our upcoming fourth Fortina location.

Z Life Denim Lounge at Rye Ridge. An awesome boutique that saves me the trip into SoHo for the freshest gear.
