#FREEDOM Craft Brewery
(23.4 miles from White Plains)
Open since late August, this upstart Westchester brewery (pronounced “hashtag freedom”) debuted two flagship beers: Unalienable Rights and The Berry Amendment. Unalienable Rights is made with 100-percent American ingredients and is hopped at three separate stages. The project is a collaboration between Barry Hansen Jr. and Greg Cristallo, along with several friends, all hailing from different educational and employment backgrounds. Expect a strictly wholesale space, but invitation-only “Bottling Nights” every Wednesday involve 10 lucky beer fans who gather to hand-cap beer (and are rewarded with free beer and food). A tasting room is planned to open within the next year.
