Vanessa Williams drove the first post into the ground to begin the “Post for a Cure” campaign to raise money for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life (RelayforLife.org). Mahopac-based Campanella Fence Center has donated one dollar for each post it has put in the ground since November 30, 2008, and will continue to do so until April 18. Co-owner Tony Campanella’s mother and his wife Lisa’s friend, Chris, have been diagnosed with breast cancer. The company’s truck fleet is decorated with pink ribbons to serve as cancer-awareness vehicles.
“I am looking forward to driving hundreds and thousands of posts in the ground over the upcoming months,” says Campanella. “We need to find a cure for breast cancer.”
