Five Guys Burgers and Fries
Among the new-wave burger stands, Five Guys is a relative oldster. Its original, 1986 store in Arlington, Virginia, predates the 2004 official debut of Shake Shack by a whopping 18 years. At Five Guys, you’ll find stunningly caloric burgers paired with a loud arena rock and gratis peanuts, which make the perfect distraction during the wait until your order number is called. In a shocker recently published in the Huffington Post, Five Guys edged out the West Coast cult favorite, In-N-Out Burger, to win the honor of America’s favorite burger chain. The comparison between the two restaurants is apt. Like In-N-Out Burger, Five Guys never freezes its beef, leaving its griddled patties full of flavorful juice.
