Family, Friends Continue to Question Police Account in Pace Student Shooting

Days after Pace student Danroy Henry was shot by a police officer in Thornwood, family, friends, and witnesses are raising doubts regarding the police account. The father of one of the passengers in the car—with which Henry apparently slammed into a cop, prompting the officer to shoot Henry, the driver—claims that Henry was not speeding away from the cop but, rather, believed that the cop wanted him to move his vehicle. Henry’s friend, a passenger in the car, added that “whether [they] were trying to drive away or not … there was no need for any of that to happen.” Henry’s father has cited “a lot of witnesses” who disagree with the preliminary police account. New York State Police, Westchester County crime scene experts, and Westchester County District Attorney are currently investigating the case.
