Any gourmand will tell you that pairing side dishes with an entrée is a culinary art all its own. So it goes with side tables and seating. Despite their relatively small size, the contribution accent tables make to the overall design—and feeling—of a room is undeniable. Yet, a good decorative table is hard to find. That’s why these caught our eye. After finding that he spent much of his time as an interior designer searching for just the right decorative table to place alongside a chair, Kirk Guthrie, founder and chief designer for Linkasink, makers of decorative sinks, decided to design his own collection. Enter the Taybol line. Designed for both indoor and outdoor use, each piece has a separate base andtop, making them interchangeable. Materials and specialized finishes include ceramic, marble, fiberglass, porcelain, and cloisonné, with the latter two created using centuries-old Chinese techniques. Each table is approximately 20 inches high, and tabletop diameters are 16 to 23 inches. Available through designers and architects and at net prices ranging from $250 to $1,200 at authenteak.com.
