This one has his studio and a gallery showcasing his and others’ work in a loft space with original 1920s tin ceilings, old wood floors, and brick walls. Influenced by such modern and contemporary artists as Andy Warhol, Willem De Kooning, and Keith Haring, Alvarez’s oil paintings have a distinct modern sensibility, and much of his current work features female lips.
