County Board Overrides Astorino Veto

The Westchester County Board of Legislators voted 14-2 to override County Executive Rob Astorino’s veto on spending $1.3 million to relocate and refurbish George Washington’s headquarters during the Battle of White Plains. In our online poll (so far!), 55 percent of you agree with Astorino that the money could be better spent elsewhere, while only 45 percent of you would have overridden the county executive, too.
