The White Plains Bloomingdale’s location turns 40 this year, and on September 12, the department store will commemorate the milestone with an in-store party, featuring a live DJ, a fall fashion show, and free refreshments.
“Living in the Westchester community for most of my life and starting my career at Bloomingdale’s in our White Plains Store makes this milestone very personal,” Bloomingdale’s CEO and Westchester resident Tony Spring said in a statement. “We appreciate the wonderful work of our associates and the tremendous loyalty of our customers. We look forward to what’s new, what’s next and continuing to be like no other store in the world.”
In honor of its 40 years of fashion, the department store will be premiering its new fall line and exclusive looks in a style presentation hosted by Kristen Taekman, model and cast member of The Real Housewives of New York City. The Fashion show, which starts at 2 pm, will highlight Bloomingdale’s “100% campaign,” which launched last fall as a fashion quest to get the best designers in the world to create one-of-a-kind capsule collections. This year, it’s back and bigger than ever.
Included among the many events happening during the party is the launch of SJP, Sarah Jessica Parker’s long-anticipated shoe line; a meet and greet with Alana Blank, the designer and founder of jewelry line Phyllis + Rosie; a massive denim sale; and a complimentary shoe shine for anyone who tries on a pair of men’s shoes.
L’inizio of Ardsley and the Mt. Kisco Smokehouse will provide light bites for shoppers, and EBoost will be serving their all natural energy drinks and smoothies. But the best news yet? The September issue of Westchester Magazine will be distributed to all guests.
“I am honored to be part of Bloomingdale’s White Plains 40th anniversary celebration,” said Arif Boysan, Operating Vice President and General Manager. “At Bloomingdale’s we value our customers and the relationships we have with them. Working in this store for the past four years and being part of this community has been the highlight of my career.”
