Carolyn Coldman’s Art Collection on Display With Modern and Antique Touches

Interior Design: Carolyn Coffman
Palladio Interior Design
Architect: Wallace Toscano, AIA
Location: Chappaqua
This husband-and-wife team consider their home a work in progress. “A designer-architect house is never done,” says designer Carolyn Coffman. “We are constantly bombarded with ideas, so the design is never static.” The living room is an “evolving work of art” with a mix of modern and antique furnishings along with a collection of architectural drawings the couple have collected since the 1980s.

Whitlock: Warm and visually interesting.
Lima: The artwork, warm colors, and elegant fabrics make this living room exude character and charm. The niche behind the sofa affords a beautiful opportunity to feature the art collection prominently as the room’s focal point. The artwork theme is carried throughout the space over the fireplace mantle and on the accent console as well.
Buscarello: Shows a nice flair for mixing traditional with modern touches. The art collection is beautifully integrated into the space and each piece of furniture is strong and sculptural, all living quite harmoniously with each other.
Kossar: Eclectic space united by the use of art.
