Cablevision Seeks to Bring WiFi to Westchester Metro-North Commuters

Metro-North commuters, rejoice! If a deal between Cablevision and the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority is reached, you’ll soon have a welcome distraction during the long commute to and from work: WiFi. That’s right—Cablevision is seeking to bring its Optimum wireless internet connectivity to the Metro-North commuter railroad systems.

This is big. Not only does this mean you can further maximize your time by taking care of emails and other online tasks—more importantly, you may soon have the power to combat the irritating soundtrack of Pesky Cell Phone Yapper (we’ve all encountered ’em) by simply plugging in your headphones and streaming your TV show of choice via the web. Hurry up, Cablevision!
