BSF: Burgers, Shakes & Fries
(two Connecticut locations)
Connecticut’s answer to Ray Kroc, the 20-something Kory Wollins opened his first Burgers, Shakes and Fries in 2007 in a tiny storefront located in Byram, Connecticut, just a stone’s throw from Port Chester. Look for salty, juicy, onethird-pounders served on griddled slices of white bread. The bread is spread with butter and mayo, then crisped on the griddle as your locally ground beef burger sears. (NB: Expect your mouth to water when you walk into this steamy shop.) Don’t miss Wollins’ changing roster of inspired shakes and malteds that include all the usual flavors, plus oddballs like Neapolitan, black and white, and cinnamon.

Burgers, Shakes and Fries’ Mouthwatering Formula Includes White Bread and Mayo
You read that right. The bread sizzles in butter, mayo and burger juice next to the locally ground patty, best washed down with inventive shakes and a side of fries.
