Bronxsylvania?

From Twilight to True Blood to The Vampire Diaries, vampires are inundating the current cultural climate. Like any other trend, Westchester is ahead of the curve on this one. Our bucolic town of Bronxville is invaded by vampires in The Strain, the creepily engaging New York Times bestselling novel by Guillermo del Toro (creator of Oscar-winning Pan’s Labyrinth) and Chuck Hogan (author of the acclaimed novel Prince of Thieves), released this past June. Unfortunately, an outbreak of vampirism doesn’t bode well for Bronxville. Following is an argument between two Centers for Disease Control physicians:

“Have you been to Bronxville? Have you seen it now?”
“I have been there…we don’t know what we have quite yet.”
“Don’t know! Give me a break, Everett.”
“They found the police station empty this morning. The entire town appears to have been abandoned.”
“Not abandoned. They’re all still there, just hiding. Come sundown, in Westchester County it’s going to be like Transylvania.”
