Wondering what to do with the kids this weekend? Take a trip across the Tappan Zee and step right up to the big top—the Big Apple Circus is back in town. This is classic circus silliness at its best: dogs climbing ladders, jugglers skipping ropes while bouncing balls off their heads (or in one case, skipping rope while bouncing ball off head while standing in partners hands over his head!), acrobats clambering up poles and then leaping from one to another, stunt riding on a falling apart bike, then a tiny one, and then an even tinier one through a flaming hoop. You get the idea. The two 11-year-old boys with us proclaimed the show “awesome.” We agreed, although we fervently prayed they wouldn’t try any of these stunts at home! This is theatre in the round—there are no bad seats, none are more than 50 feet from the action.
