Tony Bowman, who taught a course called “Auto Mechanics for Adults” at BOCES for 32 years, has worked at Farrow’s, a Pleasantville fixture for 51 years, since 1963. The three-bay station has a legion of loyal customers who know that, whether they want a tune-up, an inspection, engine repairs, parts, or bodywork, they’ll get it done here efficiently and quickly, for a fair price. As for Bowman’s long tenure? “It was supposed to be a temporary job,” he says, “but nobody ever told me to leave.”
