It’s that time of day—the afternoon lull when you’re hankering for something sweet. The remedy—created by Debra Holstein, a Tarrytown branding expert—is The 4:00 Cookie, a crispy-exterior, chewy-interior treat that’s chock-full of healthy ingredients (whole-wheat flour, rolled oats, flaxseeds and nuts, low-glycemic coconut-flower sugar for sweetness) designed to avoid the crash-and-burn white-sugar rush. Available in nine flavors (including cherry, dark chocolate, and hazelnut; wild blueberry almond; fig, coconut, and dark chocolate; cranberry trail mix; and chocolate cherry, plus a gluten-free variety), they are sold in area stores as well as at Holstein’s flagship location in Rye.
