Q: Will construction on I-287 ever be completed?

A: “Yes, at least major construction should be completed by the end of this month,” says Mark Tiano, project engineer at NYSDOT—although it may not look like it. The reason? Roads in and around Exit 8, including a section of Westchester Avenue that passes adjacent to the Interstate highway, will be worked on until Thanksgiving 2012.

And after that? “Except for general maintenance, there are no other major projects for or around I-287 in the foreseeable future,” answers George Santana, the project manager at the NYSDOT responsible for I-287.
