Architecture Design and Execution Earn Top Award/Best in Show for Carol Kurth

What’s not to love about Carol Kurth’s “Farm to Table” project? It wowed judges on a number of levels: architecture, design concept, and design execution. Integrating sustainable systems, reclaimed materials, and detailed architectural design, Kurth replaced an existing, screened-in porch, making it seamlessly flow into new outdoor entertaining spaces and gardens. Kurth says, “The resulting design is a harmonious axis of program: a rustic chef’s kitchen, breakfast room, and indoor family great room; an outdoor dining pavilion; an impeccably detailed conservatory and an 18-acre micro-farm, all of which serve as a stunning backdrop for the client’s health and wellness lifestyle.”

Veronica Whitlock: Great interior space with handsome architectural elements.
Pedro Lima: This project combines rustic finishes with elegant detailing. The exposed wood beams in the kitchen and dining spaces help to define the space, while the arched wood rafters in the living room add to the sense of grandeur and elegance; ideal for entertaining.
John Buscarello: The sprawling spaces exhibit a great sense of order. The décor clearly defines the spaces, yet exudes drama and serenity at the same time. Great use of architectural elements help to define the ceilings and add to the drama of the space.
Don Kossar: Consistent details and the focal points unite interiors and exteriors, creating a beautiful, harmonious space.
Margaret Mintz: A gorgeous, integrated concept carried through from outside to inside and from living room to greenhouse. You know you are in the same space, yet the idea is interpreted in so many different, creative, and comfortable ways.
