As summer approaches and days get hotter, Westchester locals will once again flock toward pools and beaches to splash around in the water and get their healthy (or not so healthy; wear sunscreen, folks) dose of Vitamin D. Here’s what to know as Westchester’s public pools reopen this season for swimming and summer fun.
Four public pools reopen for the summer beginning Friday, June 23 and lasting through Monday, September 4. All pools will be open exclusively to county residents from 11 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. daily, with no admittance after 6 p.m. Here’s everything else you’ll need to know to stay cool by the pool in Westchester.
Playland Pool

Not only can you take a joy ride on the iconic Dragon Coaster and soak up the sun on the beach, but Playland has a family pool. It boasts a zero-depth entry, state-of-the-art lounge furniture, and panoramic views of the Long Island Sound. The pool opens on the weekends starting May 25 and weekdays starting June 1.
Pool & Beach Combo Pass: Adult, children, and senior passes are $14.99, and children two and under get in for free.

Saxon Woods Pool

Saxon Woods Park is a 700-acre property that is home to Westchester’s largest swimming pool, a children’s aquatic playground, and picnic areas. If you’re looking for a post-swim activity, the park also has an 18-hole golf course as well as a miniature golf course.

Sprain Ridge Park Pool

Sprain Ridge Park is a 278-acre county park located on a ridge between the northbound and southbound lanes of the Sprain Brook Parkway. The park has two picnic areas, a pool, and hiking and mountain biking trails.

Tibbetts Brook Park Pool

This stunning park and aquatic complex has something for the whole family. It boasts a spray playground for the kids, in-pool basketball and volleyball for some competition, lap lanes, and the classic lazy river. The park also houses a Tudor revival-style bathhouse that has been restored to maintain the vintage look.

Wilson’s Waves

Wilson’s Waves pulls out all of the stops for your summer fun. It has a wave pool that offers three-foot waves, two 18-foot-high water slides, and an interactive water playground.
