Traditional Bath

Jason Landau
Amazing Spaces

Peekskill This bathroom was designed for a retired woman who lives alone in a traditional-style townhouse. Jason Landau found inspiration from the existing décor of the remainder of the home so the space would fit in aesthetically. He worked with the existing footprint but enlarged the shower and removed the dated Jacuzzi tub. “I wanted to give her a beautiful bathroom that was fresh and modern, and also lent itself to the traditional elements she loves,” says Landau.

Unionvale This house, which is set in a meadow and overlooks a pond, uses traditional cottage elements to blend with the environment as well as modern elements to allow a lot of natural light and clear views of the landscape. Corner windows in the master bath look out to the rear yard and pond. A combination of bold tile choices and white-washed rustic wood covering the walls creates a clean, bright transitional space.

Irvington This inviting master bath features rift-sawn oak cabinetry, Calacatta floors, and handmade ceramic tiles. The spacious bath emphasizes a freestanding tub with a sculptural nickel faucet. The symmetrical layout lends itself to identical white oak his-and-hers vanities.
