Anyone who has driven on Route 9 in Croton-on-Hudson has probably noticed Croton Auto Park or at least wondered what business was responsible for the cars perched up on the large rock formation that is highly visible from the road. Smartly, the car dealership — which features new and pre-owned Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, and Ram vehicles — actually markets itself as the “dealership with the cars on the rocks.”

Although that may seem like a marketing gimmick, the rock-solid relationships the dealership prides itself on building with customers clearly is not. Owner Lou Giordano gives credit to his knowledgeable, hardworking staff and proudly notes that 80 percent of the dealership’s customers are referred or are previous customers. These days, he can count the children of parents he originally sold cars to among his client base.

Besides being a profitable dealership, Croton Auto Park makes philanthropy a priority. “Having a successful business could not have been possible without the local support, patronage, and customer loyalty we’ve earned during nearly 30 years here. Being a good community partner and forging good relationships has been our standard and what we owe our success to,” Giordano explains.

A longstanding supporter of the Croton Cub Scouts Pack 28, the dealership holds two Pinewood Derby events yearly, where the Scouts race model cars they designed and built. The firm has also helped to raise much-needed funds for local organizations, including Support Connection, which offers breast-and-ovarian-cancer support services, and The Keon Center, which helps the developmentally disabled in Westchester.
