Dig out your skis and dust off your sleds, since snowstorms and low temperatures have created the perfect conditions for winter sports around the county.

Let’s face it, after all the shoveling you’ve done this year, you deserve to take a break and actually enjoy all this snow. Luckily, cross-country skiing, sledding, and ice skating are available throughout all the Westchester County Parks, offering family-friendly activities for both kids and adults to enjoy.

“It’s been a few years since we’ve seen so much snow in Westchester. This year you won’t have to travel far for winter sports, there’s plenty to enjoy right in your own backyard,” says County Executive George Latimer.

Commissioner of the Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation Kathy O’Connor adds, “Covered in snow, our parks continue to provide Westchester County residents with outlets for recreation. We encourage you to bundle up and explore another side of our nationally accredited park system.”
