Bedford’s Hoppfest

Think Oktoberfest, but with more of a local-history vibe, presented at the Bedford Village Green starting at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 13. This grand block party will feature seasonal beers from the likes of Captain Lawrence and Broken Bow breweries — including the event exclusive Bedford Brew! Other offerings will include wine from Gonzalez Byass, appetizers, a raffle, and live music. All-inclusive tickets start at $125 ($100 for Bedford Historical Society members) and proceeds help fund the society’s educational programs.

The 2018 Yonkers International Trot

Empire City Casino’s Yonkers Raceway will be hosting a massive international race this Saturday, and they’re pulling out all the stops for the big show. American’s own Ariana G. (yes, named after the singer) will pit herself against nine all-male competitors from Canada and Europe, facing off on a 1.25-mile track for the glory of the win, plus a $1 million prize! The race is free to watch, and as if that weren’t exciting enough, beloved East Coast cover band The Nerds will be performing throughout, while the track-side beer garden will also serve up sixteen different craft beers and international eats like bratwurst and Bavarian pretzels. Food and drink tickets will be available at the event starting at just $10 or pick up a beer sampling wristband for $50.

Give It Some “Umph”

Jam-band legends Umphrey’s McGee return to Port Chester’s Capitol Theatre this Sunday, and it promises to be yet another amazing show by the long-running group. Tickets are still available, and range $40-$55, but they’ll jump $5 at the door so you definitely want to pick yours up online. The six-piece is set to ascend a seat of psychedelic supremacy around 7:30 p.m. so you’ve got plenty of time to catch up on the band’s latest happenings with our recent interview!
