Robert Carley’s American Flag Photographs on Display at Greenwich’s Bruce Museum

As you head out to your Fourth of July barbecues, do you plan on wearing an American flag somewhere—on a T-shirt perhaps, or a pair of sunglasses, or secretly stowed away on a set of boxers? Clothing isn’t the only thing that’s been adorned with Old Glory. Since September 11, 2001, photographer Robert Carley has been snapping photos of the flag wherever he finds it, on everything from chain-link fences to surfboards. The Bruce Museum in Greenwich, Connecticut, has collected about 30 of his photographs for a new exhibition: Flags Across America: The Photographs of Robert Carley. With your patriotism swelled from Independence Day, head over and check it out—it’ll be around from July 14 to September 22.
