It’s time to lace up your skates and glide around because Westchester County is welcoming a new ice skating rink.
It’s almost that time of year to throw on your mittens and skate around to classic Christmas tunes. And, if you’ve been searching for a new spot to show off your skating moves, look no further. Yonkers is welcoming the holiday season with its brand-new ice skating rink. Whether you’re twirling around doing spins or holding onto the wall, the new skating rink welcomes skaters of all ages and skills.
Ridge Hill, Yonkers’ pedestrian-friendly lifestyle center, is adding its very own ice-skating rink starting this fall. At the same time, it’s also preparing for the holiday season with a handful of holiday events alongside its newest rink.
Ridge Hill on Ice is the 2,000-sq-ft ice rink located on the Town Square Lawn at Ridge Hill. The grand opening of the rink is set for Sunday, November 20, the same day as The Lighting of Ridge Hill. The rink will officially open to skaters after a dazzling performance happening at 4 p.m. that day.
If you’re looking to go skating, walk-ins are welcome, but to guarantee your skating fun for the whole family, guests are encouraged to make a reservation in advance. Skaters can reserve their time slot through Ridge Hill’s website. The purchase of general admission tickets includes a pair of skates. Tickets run $18 for adults and $14 for children 12 and under.
Once the rink opens its doors, you can glide around on Mondays through Thursdays from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
