June is Pride Month, a time to honor and uplift the LGBTQ+ community. It is celebrated annually in the month of June to honor the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan. The Stonewall Uprising is noted as a crucial moment for the Gay Liberation Movement in the United States. Now, through local parades, events, and fundraisers, we can recognize and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and queer voices. Here’s where to find a variety of Pride Month events and parades happening across the county.
Pride Festival and Parade
Rye Town Park, Rye
June 1, 4:30 p.m.
Rye holds a pRYEde celebration on June 1 at Rye Town Park. The pride and art fair will take place at 4:30 p.m., followed by the flag raising at 6 p.m. The parade kicks off at 6:30 p.m. and will start at the Rye Town Park Boardwalk. The event is a collaborative effort by local community organizations and will feature crafts, face painting, and much more. You won’t want to miss out on the afterparty on the beach at Rye Town Park; registration is required.

Westchester Pride
Court St, Downtown White Plains
June 2, 12-5 p.m.
The county’s official celebration in downtown White Plains will feature music, food, dancing, flag raising, and so much more. A pet parade and family zone ensure that there’s something for absolutely everyone, and the celebration will be capped off in the evening with an afterparty you won’t want to miss. Plus, there will be a special appearance from Peppermint, a drag queen who was on RuPaul’s Drag Race. This equally informational and eventful event is organized by The LOFT LGBTQ+ Community Center. The flag raising will be held at 11:30 a.m. at the Michaelian Office Building.

Pound Ridge Color Run
Pound Ridge Elementary School, Pound Ridge
June 2, 9 a.m.
With a tagline of “Inspired by Holi. Powered by Pride.,” this event is the perfect way to kick off June in Westchester. Around 200 runners participated last year to help honor the LGBTQ+ community in the region, and this year’s festivities look to be just as popular. The 5K Road Race is $30 per person, while the Fun Run is $25 per person.

Pride Parking Lot Party & Movie
Jacob Burns Film Center, Pleasantville
June 6, 5-7 p.m.
The Jacob Burns Film Center will host its annual Pride Parking Lot Party on June 6. At this event, there will be food trucks, a bar, and a DJ spinning live music. Post-party, the film center will screen a queer classic, But I’m a Cheerleader, featuring Natasha Lyonne. Grab your tickets here.
Pride Night
Warburton Ave, Hastings-on-Hudson
June 7, 6-9 p.m.
The Village of Hastings, Destination Hastings, and Hastings Rainbow Families host the third annual Friday Night Pride in the village. This family-friendly festival will kick off with a pre-event at The Good Witch Coffee Bar from 3:45-5:45 p.m., during which time there will be music and supplies for guests to contribute to a community pride banner. At 5:45 p.m., the march downtown begins, commencing in the middle of Warburton Avenue. The celebration will include music, dancing, and performers. Guests can slide down a massive rainbow slide, get their face painted, try make-your-own spray paint art, craft rainbow bracelets, and more.

Yonkers Pride Festival

June 8, 1-7 p.m.
The City of Yonkers will hold its seventh annual LGBTQ+ Pride Festival on June 8. The event will showcase celebrity entertainment, food, shopping, and plenty of community organizations. It will be held rain or shine, so be sure to stop by for good vibes. Xunami Muse from RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 16 will be the headliner!

New Rochelle Pride Month
Ruby Dee Park, New Rochelle
June 8, 2-5 p.m.
New Rochelle’s second annual Pride Festival leans into a “Carnival!” theme. Need we say more? There will be games, a photo wall, local vendors, food trucks, and live performances. Community organizations in attendance will include Westchester County Human Rights Commission, New Rochelle Pride, Humane Society of Westchester, Montefiore Medical Center, Center Lane, and The Loft. Additionally, there will be a Pride Gala held at City Hall on June 5. This event will honor New Rochelle trailblazers of LGBTQIA+ rights.

Lewisboro Pride in the Park
Lewisboro Town Park
June 22, 2 p.m.
The 4th annual Lewisboro Pride in the Park is being held at the end of Pride month this year. This is a free, family-friendly event that has a stacked list of activities. From a drag queen story time to a pet parade, there’s something for everyone. Plus, there will be two food trucks: Wrappers Delight and Ben & Jerry’s for a sweet treat.
Peekskill Pride
Pugsley Park, Peekskill
June 29, 1-5 p.m.
Enjoy a day of pride celebration suited for the whole family. Peekskill Pride’s Family Pride in the Park, the fourth annual event, will feature a drag queen story time, drag performances, crafts and games, and a pet photo contest. The event will star drag queen Evita Loca. The event is free and will take place rain or shine.

Yorktown Pride
Yorktown Town Hall, Yorktown
June 29, 1 p.m.
Yorktown’s vibrant pride march steps off at 1 p.m. from Yorktown Town Hall. From 12-4 p.m., the town’s pride festival celebration takes place at the historic Railroad Park. It will feature live performances, grassroots speakers, information tables, and plenty of vendors.
Croton River Artisans
9 Old Post Road South, Croton-on-Hudson
If you’re on the hunt for art this Pride Month, head over to the Croton River Artisans in Croton-on-Hudson. The gallery has four artists showing in June alongside a quilt that’s on display, made by actor and playwright Harvey Fierstein. They are auctioning off the quilt and proceeds will go to Trans Support of the Hudson Valley and a part of the money will go to the gallery’s visiting artist program.
