This season, Westchester’s historic amusement park is partnering with The Capitol Theatre to bring live music and entertainment to Playland’s main stage. Guests can expect music every other weekend from July 6 to September 1 with a standout backdrop of the Long Island Sound.
After a thrilling day hitting all the rides in the amusement park or soaking up the sunshine (safely) at Playland’s beach or pool, you can complete your trip with family-friendly tunes. Kick back and relax by the main stage and enjoy live music to cap off a eventful afternoon in Rye.
The program will kick off on Saturday, July 6 with 1 Wild Night, a Bon Jovi tribute. Other series headliners include Jacknife Lori (’90s alt-rock hits), Half Step (Grateful Dead tribute), Damn the Torpedoes (a Tom Petty concert experience), and Taylor’s Version – A Swiftie Dance Party.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with The Capitol Theatre to bring live musical performances that visitors from all generations can enjoy and appreciate. This collaboration is just one of the ways that Playland is working to grow its reach within the community through new and robust arts and culture programming. In addition to our diverse range of attractions, from the iconic amusement park to the beach and pool, arcade, dining locations, and more, Playland is constantly working to expand its offerings as part of our vision of being a place for exploration, culture and community,” says Evonne Keeler, CEO of Playland.
Additionally, kicking off July 7, Playland and The Capitol Theatre will present The Rock and Roll Playhouse, a family concert series that translates some of music’s most recognizable anthems into age-appropriate sing-alongs ideal for all listeners. The series will feature a variety of genres such as classic rock, new wave, pop, and pop-punk. Expect to hear kid-friendly covers of Queen, Talking Heads, Taylor Swift, Blink 182, The Beatles, and more.

It will host Stage Variety Shows, arts programming in collaboration with ArtsWestchester, outdoor movie nights under the stars, the Dragon Coaster’s 95th birthday celebration, and the return of the World’s Largest Rubber Duck as well.
Playland is easily accessible via the Rye Metro-North station, Playland’s roundtrip ferry service to and from New York City on select Saturdays (currently scheduled on July 20 and August 17 and 31), and, of course, by car.
