Clay Time
Take a walk on the wild side during this show that investigates what exactly it means to be exotic. On exhibit from October 11 to March 9 at the Hudson River Museum, Clay Conversations: Ceramics From the Gilded to the Digital Age includes a host of ceramic works, ranging from porcelain vases to cotemporary dishware generated by artificial intelligence, each exploring ceramics’ relationship to exclusivity and exoticism. The exhibit features selections from the museum’s Chinese porcelain collection, the work of five New York-based artists, and a large-scale mixed media piece by Yonkers’ Rachel Sydlowski.

Footing It
Founded by legendary choreographer Alvin Ailey in 1974, Ailey II: The Next Generation of Dance celebrates 50 years of fancy footwork with a performance at The Ridgefield Playhouse. The younger counterpart to Alvin Ailey’s American Dance Theatre — helmed for 38 seasons by artistic director Sylvia Waters — continues to push boundaries with cutting-edge choreography and a singular movement style.

Hyde and Seek
The White Plains Performing Arts Center is bringing Robert Louis Stevenson’s immortal tale to vivid life in this macabre musical onstage throughout the month. Featuring a memorable score of pop rock hits penned by two-time Oscar- and Grammy-winner Leslie Bricusse and Tony-nominated composer Frank Wildhorn, Jekyll & Hyde tells an epic tale of good versus evil, all while supplying a heaping helping of electrifying music.

The Night Stuff
Feel like you’ve stepped back in time during this immersive theatrical experience at the Rockefeller State Park Preserve. Now in its sixth season, Hulda’s Night 2024 brings audiences back to the age of the American Revolution as they hear legends of Sleepy Hollow and experience dramatic reenactments of the era while exploring the preserve’s lantern-lit carriage roads. Attendees gather at four venues to watch short performances illuminating the story of Hulda the Witch and more local lore.

Rock of Ages
The Grammy-winning group Chicago is storming Port Chester’s Capitol Theatre this month for two nights. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees, named one of the Top 125 Bands of All Time by Billboard Magazine, are the first American rock musicians to chart Top 40 albums in six consecutive decades, and remain known for classic rock megahits like “Saturday in the Park” and “If You Leave Me Now.”

Chilling, True Tales From the Newkirk Museum of the Paranormal features hair-raising true stories behind some of the world’s most haunted objects, told by famed, full-time paranormal investigators Greg and Dana Newkirk of the Travel Channel and Amazon Prime.
