Fashion Icon Nigel Barker Celebrates New Espresso Martini Line in Yonkers

The America’s Next Top Model judge swings by Stew Leonard’s Wine & Spirits for a special runway competition.

It’s no secret that espresso martinis have been having a moment, both on social media and at local restaurants. So, when we heard that famed fashion photographer and America’s Next Top Model judge Nigel Barker was launching a line of ready-to-serve, premium espresso martinis, we were more than a little intrigued. Add to that the fact that Barker himself will be making an appearance at Stew Leonard’s Wine & Spirits this weekend, and we’re thinking there are more than a few reasons to swing by the Yonkers hotspot on Saturday.

As part of a special partnership, Barker teamed up with his longtime friend Philippe Roederer, who’s also the former VP of sales for Clicquot Inc., to launch The Barker Company. The Barker Company aims to bring bartender-quality espresso martinis to liquor store shelves so everyone can enjoy the sip of the moment.

Making the martini

The Barker Company espresso martinis focus on quality ingredients that help the libation shine. The espresso is 100% Colombian, while the vodka is distilled six times. Plus, the whole concoction is completely vegan, so everyone who previously abstained from espresso martinis for fear of any milk or cream additions can enjoy the drink without issue. It falls at 20% ABV as well, so it’s a real-deal cocktail.

Nigel Barker in Yonkers

To mark the launch of The Barker Company, Barker himself will be making an appearance at Stew Leonard’s Wine & Spirits in Yonkers on Saturday, May 3 from 1-3 p.m. He and the shop are inviting local designers and customers to swing by to showcase their best espresso-martini-inspired looks on the black espresso-colored carpet (naturally). At the end of the show, Barker will select a winner to receive a luxury espresso machine, premium barware, and specialty coffee (valued at $350), along with an onsite shoot with Barker featuring the winner’s design. And that’s not to mention the bragging rights!
