Meg Wolitzer’s newest novel, The Interestings, comes out April 9, and she’ll give a hot-off-the-presses reading from it at—where else?—Spoken Interludes on April 17. The novel follows four friends who meet at a performing arts camp and grow up to find their relationships change when two become shockingly successful. (Not that anyone here can relate to the book’s themes of jealousy.) In addition to Wolitzer, the night also features readings by Jennifer Gilmore (The Mothers) and Charles Debow (Indiscretion). Cocktails and a buffet from Chutney Masala precede the event, and The Village Bookstore will be on hand to sell copies of the books at a signing after the reading.
