There’s no question about composer John Corigliano’s musical talent. The Pulitzer-, Oscar-, and Grammy-winning musician has done everything from writing operas (The Ghosts of Versailles) to creating film scores (The Red Violin, Altered States, Revolution). So if there were ever a composer deserving of a big, musical birthday celebration, it’s him. Thankfully, Copland House at Merestead is up to the job, hosting “…Forever Young: John Corigliano at 75” on December 1. The composer will be on-hand to introduce the songs he wrote to celebrate another musical luminary: Bob Dylan. Soprano Amy Burton will perform Corigliano’s Dylan-inspired song cycle, “Mr. Tambourine Man: Seven Poems of Bob Dylan.”
