In her very first solo institutional exhibition, Milano Chow: Prima Facie, the LA-based artist conjures up elaborate, dreamlike architectural interiors populated with ghostly female figures. Inspired by Surrealism, film noir, and fashion photography, Chow draws on true-to-life sources, such as blueprints, technical drawings, and architectural tomes to craft her imaginative works, more than a dozen of which can be enjoyed at Ridgefield’s The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum from January 15 to May 22.

Snow Music
Now celebrating its 25th anniversary, this seasonal showcase of touring musicians must be doing something right. Featuring renowned singer-songwriters and folk mainstays John Gorka, Lucy Kaplansky, Patty Larkin, and Cliff Eberhardt, On a Winter’s Night will be making a spectacular appearance this month for one evening at Mamaroneck’s Emelin Theatre. Drop by and see why these folk heroes remain on tour after nearly three decades.

Eye of the Tiger
Since press time the Daniel Tiger performance has been rescheduled to May 11, 2022.
Kids who have been cramped up indoors all winter finally have a fun event of their own to enjoy. Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood will bring the animal stars of the hit PBS KIDS show to vivid life with a live theatrical production featuring dancing, music, and a whole lot of laughter. Drop by Stamford’s Palace Theatre to catch up with Katerina Kittycat, Prince Wednesday, and of course Daniel Tiger too.

Comedy Queen
Whether she is cracking wise on NPR’s megahit quiz show Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me, making America laugh on late-night TV, or penning a bestselling book, Paula Poundstone has remained an outsized presence in comedy. Now, the Emmy Award-winning humorist, author, and host of her own popular podcast, Nobody Listens to Paula Poundstone, will be taking the stage at The Tarrytown Music Hall for one night of her unique mirth.

Black Magic

With five Grammys and nearly 60 years of acclaimed music under their belts, the South African sensations Ladysmith Black Mambazo are touring once again. Luckily for Westchester music lovers, the 19-time Grammy-nominated vocal group will be stopping by Mamaroneck’s Emelin Theatre for a rare performance by a collection of musicians Nelson Mandela once called “South Africa’s cultural ambassadors to the world.”

David Is Goliath
If a night out with American roots legend David Bromberg sounds like a good time, you just might want to drop by Port Chester’s Capitol Theatre this month. There, the force that shook up 1970s songwriting and performed alongside the likes of Bob Dylan, Jerry Garcia, and Willie Nelson will take the stage, playing hits from throughout his wide-ranging career.

Documenting Discomfort
The director and screenwriter Susanna Styron tackled a very personal subject when she examined her daughter Emma’s devastating migraines to craft her 2021 documentary Out of My Head. This month, The Bedford Playhouse’s A Day in the Life/Life Changers interview series will bring the filmmaker to the stage with Out of My Head with Filmmaker Susanna Styron, where she will discuss her informative film, as well as the inspiration behind it.
