Show Us What You Got
The Yonkers Public Library is holding auditions from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Riverfront Auditorium for the Yonkers Teen Talent Show. Performing artists of all types between the ages of 12 and 19 are encouraged to come out and strut their stuff for a chance to take home a $1,000 prize! This is the last day of open auditions, so sign up while you can and make your mark!

Spotlight: Westchester After Dark

It Takes a Village
Dozens of Scarsdale Village merchants and businesses will partner up with The Acceleration Project to present the Scarsdale Village Spring Shop & Share on Thursday and Friday, April 26 and 27. The combination sidewalk sale and various promotions will all help to benefit local nonprofit Family Services of Westchester.

Tell Me a Story
The Pound Ridge Historical Society presents a new exhibition titled 50 Objects – 50 Stories, billed as the cultural equivalent to exploring your grandparent’s attic. The fascinating, occasionally whimsical tour through Pound Ridge’s history will also be collected in a bound volume of the same name, available for $10 starting opening day.
REMIX
The Jacob Burns Film Center will be showing ’63 Boycott and The Chicago Mixtape as part of its ongoing REMIX series, examining the history and activism surrounding the legacy of institutionalized racism. After the films there will be a Q&A session with filmmaker Paola Piers-Torres of ’63 Boycott, a film about the desegregation of the Chicago school system, and Tracye Matthews, producer of The Chicago Mixtape, which supports empowerment through artistic education.
And for the Future Filmmakers…
In Pelham, meanwhile, The Picture House, in conjunction with the Matthew S. Hisiger Film Foundation and Westchester County will spotlight young local artists at the 2018 Future Filmmaker’s Film Festival. The festival will spotlight comedy, drama, documentaries, narrative films, and even musicals all created and produced by Westchester high school students, and even includes and awards ceremony to bequeath the coveted “Chester” to the top three submissions in various categories.
