Downtown White Plains Winter Village & Holiday Market

Court St between Main St & Martine Ave, White Plains
The White Plains Winter Village and Holiday Market is open through Sunday, December 22 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Wednesday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday to Sunday. Stop by for a slew of festive happenings including Candy Cane Lane, a nine-hole mini golf course, a playful seesaw park, magical photo ops with Santa and Santa Paws, a gingerbread village, and more. There will be free holiday portraits on December 19 from 4-6:30 p.m.

Winter Holiday Puppet Show

Pound Ridge Library, Pound Ridge
The Lucky Duck Puppets are making an appearance at the Pound Ridge Library this Saturday. Greg is coming all the way from the North Pole, and your little ones can join him on his heartwarming journey to discover his unique way of spreading joy during the holiday season. This story is a cheerful one that’s full of laughter and the spirit of celebration. Holiday refreshments will follow the show. Registration is required on the library’s website.
Holiday Movies on The Hill
December 21, 5-7 p.m.
Ridge Hill Town Square, Yonkers
This Saturday marks the last showing in the Holiday Movies on The Hill series. Kick back and relax while you enjoy a screening of the Polar Express on Ridge Hill’s brand-new LED screen in Town Square. Some seating will be provided, but the venue encourages guests to bring lawn chairs and blankets. No outside food or beverage is permitted, but there will be hot chocolate for sale and restaurants onsite for takeout.

Winter Ornament Making

New Rochelle Public Library, New Rochelle
Allow the kids to get crafty this season and display their artwork on your Christmas tree! The New Rochelle Public Library hosts a winter ornament-making class in the meeting room on the first floor. There will be a wide variety of shapes to choose from to create festive holiday cheer for you and your family. This craft is suited for children ages three to eight.

Gingerbread Man Scavenger Hunt
December 26, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Rye Free Reading Room, Rye
Keep the festivities rolling after Christmas Day at the Rye Free Reading Room. Head to the Children’s Room between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. to search for the batch of gingerbread men that have escaped and are on the loose! There is no registration required for this fun scavenger hunt.
Noon Year’s Eve Party
December 31, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
White Plains Public Library, White Plains
The White Plains Public Library hosts a Noon Year’s Eve celebration. Count down to noon throughout the Trove and indulge in crafts and activities in the morning. The library will hold a balloon drop to ring in the new year, just a tad early!
Noon Year’s Eve Pajama Party

Dobbs Ferry Public Library, Dobbs Ferry
Ms. Gina is headed to the Dobbs Ferry Public Library for this annual tradition on New Year’s Eve. The free holiday pajama party will feature a story time, crafts, and a countdown to noon. Kids can expect confetti, balloons, and more.

The Rye Reading Room is also hosting a Noon Year’s Eve Party for the little ones who can’t stay up until midnight but still want to be a part of the celebration. Ring in the new year with themed crafts and snacks as attendees count down to 12 p.m. This is for kids under 12.
The Great Lego Menorah Build
Chabad of the Rivertowns, Dobbs Ferry
December 25, 3 p.m.
At this standout Hanukkah family event in Dobbs Ferry, Master LEGO Architect Stephen Swissa will aid construction of a giant 12-foot menorah. After the LEGO menorah is built, a special lighting ceremony will follow with latkes, donuts, and gelt.
