In the past decade, Fishkill Farms has grown from a conventionally farmed apple orchard into a diversified, ecological farm. The farm is comprised of 60 acres of just apples (growing over 40 varieties), along with dozens of acres of other pick-your-own fruits and vegetables. Fishkill Farms also has a flock of 1000 pasture-raised hens. Many of the berries and vegetables grown on the farm are organically grown, without the use of sprays and pesticides. Five acres of the apple crop are also grown organically, and Fishkill Farms plans to expand organic farming methods to more of their crops.
