Rye Surviving the fire this house suffered is the original, dramatic barrel-vaulted ceiling in the hallway. The graceful architectural details create a perfect backdrop for the client’s collection of vintage Hermes scarves. Tai Ping silk rugs, vintage Swedish scones, and a Promemoria console table were all used to add a soft luster and elegance.

Scarsdale This new entry hall was core to the major transformation of a one-story house into a two-story house. A modern design was selected for this project and a light, open, modern staircase with metal railing was chosen as it allows the light to filter through the entry hall freely from the large glass panel.

Chappaqua A new staircase replaced a walled switchback stair from the 1990s. The new installation features a deep finish on the oak treads and a handrail paired with simple iron spindles. The walls are covered in a custom wainscot panel, framing the owner’s art collection as well as defining openings to the formal and informal living spaces.
