It’s officially the time of year to sing Christmas carols, sip hot chocolate, and get overly excited to see Santa Claus. Lucky for you, we rounded up the top places to celebrate the holiday season in Westchester with magnificently sparkling tree-filled festivities.
Yonkers
November 15, 6 p.m.
Cross County Center, Yonkers
The Cross County Center hosts its tree lighting this Friday. Families can enjoy live music, an electric train ride, entertainers, food trucks, and even a visit from Mrs. Claus. The lighting of the 40-foot Christmas tree will be at 7:30 p.m. Not only does this mark the beginning of the holiday season, but also the opening of the center’s pop-up holiday ice rink. Admission is $10 per person for an hour of skating.

Katonah
December 1, 6 p.m.
Bedford Road, Katonah
The Chamber of Commerce’s tree and menorah lighting will be held the Sunday after Thanksgiving at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church on Bedford Road.
Armonk
December 1, 12-5 p.m.
Main Street, Armonk
Did you know the song “Frosty the Snowman” is supposedly based on Armonk? Now, whether that’s true or not, the town celebrates like it is with a big village parade and a tree lighting ceremony. From 12:30-3:30 p.m., there will be entertainers, train rides, magicians, clowns, and arts and crafts. The holiday parade kicks off at 4 p.m., followed by the tree lighting at 4:30 p.m.
Mount Kisco
December 1, 6-7:30 p.m.
Village Hall Green, Mount Kisco
The Village of Mount Kisco will hold its annual tree lighting and caroling at the Village Green from 6-7 p.m. There will be ukulele songs and caroling performed by the Westchester Family Church, the Mount Kisco Elementary School Chorus, and the St. Francis Contemporary Choir. There will even be a visit from Kris Kringle himself, and festive goodies will be handed out. It’s requested that you bring donations for the Mount Kisco Interfaith Food Pantry.
Rye
December 7, 4:30 p.m.
Crawford Park, Rye
Santa is coming to town to join in on the holiday light fun! At this tree, menorah, and Kwanzaa lighting ceremony, there will be food trucks, holiday train rides, giant inflatables, and more. The lighting ceremony is at 5 p.m.

Tarrytown
December 7, 2-9 p.m.
Patriots Park, Tarrytown
Tarrytown’s annual holiday tree lighting and holiday market will be held at Patriots Park on Saturday, December 7. The TaSH Holiday Market will be open from 2-6 p.m., while tree lighting and performances by Tarrytown Music Hall Academy will begin at 4:15 p.m. Guests can take the Holiday Trolley between Patriots Park and Downtown Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow for local shopping, performances, and visits to Santa between 5 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

Depot Square, Tuckahoe
The village’s annual Winterfest will be held this year in Depot Square and feature pictures with Santa, train rides, a magician, and a face painter. The Christmas tree lighting will commence at 5 p.m.
Yorktown
December 7, 6 p.m.
Jack DeVito Veteran Memorial Field and Track, Yorktown
On Saturday, December 7, Yorktown will hold the 13th annual holiday electric light parade and tree lighting. The parade will step off at 6 p.m. and, at the conclusion of the parade, the lighting ceremony will take place at 7 p.m.
New Rochelle
December 9
Memorial Plaza, New Rochelle
The City of New Rochelle’s tree lighting ceremony will be held on Monday, December 9 at 5 p.m. at Memorial Plaza.
White Plains
December 11, 5-6 p.m.
Renaissance Park, White Plains
White Plains City Lights, Bright Holiday Nights Christmas tree lighting takes place on Wednesday, December 10 at Renaissance Park. Celebrate the beginning of the holiday season as the mayor lights the holiday tree, which also marks the start of the city’s holiday market.
