It’s the start of a new year, and while it’s okay to strive for a “new you,” we sincerely hope you don’t do away with the entire “old you.” Specifically, hold on to the “old you” that loves getting dressed to the nines, slugging back a few drinks, and partying the night away. Otherwise the following New Year’s Eve celebrations (and 2017 in general) would be a little too dull for our liking.

Although, after dealing with 2016, perhaps dull wouldn’t be too terrible.

Celebrations

Peekskill New Year’s Eve Celebration

The party in Peekskill starts at 10 p.m. with a ball drop, live music by Midnight Image at the corner of Park and Division Street, and fireworks after midnight.

 

White Plains New Year’s Eve Family Spectacular

Festivities at the White Plains New Year’s celebration include a ball drop, fireworks, confetti, and live music from DJ Edvin Ortega, from Orange is The New Black and Gotham, and his tribute band Larger Than Life. The party extends from 10 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. on Main and Court streets, with gated entrances at Main Street at Church Street, Renaissance Square, and Martine Avenue at Mamaroneck Avenue. The City of White Plains and Heineken USA will also provide free rides home for attendees over 21 as part of its Safe Rides program. Streets in the area will begin closing around 1 p.m. New Years Eve.

Balls and Parties

New Year’s at the Westchester Broadway Theatre

If you’re trying to ring in the new year in true style, hit the Westchester Broadway Theatre for their gala celebration and dinner. There’s going to be a performance of Saturday Night Fever, but the real party starts when the champagne, music, and dancing take center stage. This party will last until 2 a.m., so it’s definitely for the party animals looking to dance the night away.

 

New Year’s Eve Ball at The Radisson Hotel

Don your snazziest outfits and head to The Radisson this Saturday for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, a dinner, and music and dancing until 2 a.m. Hosted by Signature Society of Westchester, the party starts at 8:30 p.m., and includes an award for the winning Gold and Black outfit for both males and females.

 

New Year’s Eve Party hosted by The Salsa Warriors

Dance the night away to salsa, disco, Latin, and top 40 hits at the Westchester Ballroom in Briarcliff Manor. Your admission includes dinner, dessert, and party favors, but bring your own beer and dress in your finest party attire.

 

For the Kids

Kids Celebrate at Winter Wonderland

Kensico Dam in Valhalla will host its first Kid’s New Year’s Eve Party this Saturday. The event starts at 8 p.m., and will include an early ball drop and fireworks. With ice skating, circus performances, rides, and more, this celebration will definitely tire out your kids in time for bed.

 

New Year’s at Noon in New Roc

New Roc City, the New Rochelle entertainment and arcade complex, is hosting an event for children ages 2 to 10 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. There will be a colorful 3,000 balloon ball drop, painting, rides, games, and snacks to keep everyone entertained.

 

Music

Joe Russo’s Almost Dead at The Cap

Ring in the new year with vicious renditions of the Grateful Dead’s most complex songs performed by the tightknit Joe Russo quintet.

 

Beanrunner’s New Year’s Eve Celebration

Enjoy a dinner buffet and music all night long at Peekskill’s Beanrunner Café. Joe Ferry & the Big Ska Band will play at 10 p.m., and DJ Ted will be playing for the remainder of the night.

 

18th Annual New Year’s Eve Bash

Piermont’s Turning Point Café invited blues/soul solo act Popa Chubby to entertain. Starting at 9:45, tickets include a toast at midnight.

 

Shadows of the ‘60s at the Paramount

Head to the Peekskill Paramount this Saturday to ring in the New Year with a salute to legendary Motown music performed by Shadows of the 60s. The dynamic tribute group is renowned for bringing the stunning sounds of Motown mainstays, like The Supremes, Marvin Gaye, and Smokey Robinson to life. There will be two showings Saturday night at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m.

 

Food

Moderne Barn’s seafood risotto

New Year’s Eve at Moderne Barn

From Executive Chef Ethan Kostbar, Moderne Barn will deliver exceptional global cuisine this New Year’s Eve. There will be two seatings, both of which offer a three-course prix fixe menu. The first seating begins at 5 p.m. with a $65 prix-fixe menu offering. The second seating begins at 8:30, and includes a $98 prix-fixe menu offering, including a bubbly toast, DJ, and dancing.

 

Cheers to 2017 at Thyme Steak and Seafood

Open from 4 p.m. to closing, Thyme will be offering a $75, three-course prix-fixe menu, including appetizers like braised short ribs and butternut squash ravioli, surf and turf, rib eye, salmon, or halibut entrees, and plenty of dessert to choose from.

 

The Inn at Pound Ridge

Join The Inn for their a la carte menu until 7 p.m. Beginning at 8 p.m., they will be offering a $198 five-course menu that includes a champagne toast at midnight.
